Help!Dominican republic?

Hi, i have to go to the Dominican republic, and have been advised of 2 resorts, though I cannot choose between them: Juan Dolio and Luperon.
Which one is the nicest place?

Juan Dolio is on the UGLY side of the country. It is a sleepy beach town with mostly all inclusive resorts and nothing much else.

It is closer to the Capitol but...

Luperon is on the North Coast which is lush and tropical. Luperon is considered a safe harbor and you have boats visiting and docking from all over the world and the bay is a hurricane and storm hole should the weather be bad. There are bars and restaurants on the water by the marina.

Luperon is a nice town with restaurants, bars and shops also.

I would say that Luperon has more going on than Juan Dolio so if you don't plan on leaving town I would stay in Luperon.

If you want to take day trips I would go to Juan Dolio. Take a day trip into Santo Domingo and go to Zona Colonial where you can have dinner on the Square where Columbus's house still stands at one of 5 or 6 different restaurants. Visit "THE" oldest church in the NEW WORLD. Go up the Malecon to the new Hilton and stop on the ocean at the many restaurants and shop in the New Mall by the Hilton.

Explore the city. Do research on the internet for Santo Domingo as there is a lot to see. I go to a Peruvian Sushi Restaurant when I am there and stay at the Courtyard by Marriot which is on Calle (Avenue) Maximo Gomez. Probably one of the nicest newly built hotels in the city at a reasonable price.

Enjoy yourself in either place. I choose to live on the Luperon Side of the Island because of its lush beauty.

Juan Dolio, also you could go more easy to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic Capital, to places like Aquarium, El Faro, Plaza del Mercado, etc. I prefer to stay in Juan Dolio than Luperon.

neither one are resorts, those are areas where resorts are located, luperon has only 1 resort, that has the same name, Tropical Luperon, Juan dolio has several, I wound't recommend neither of them, go to punta cana, or La Romana, and even Samana if you wish. every penny you spend there will be worht it.
