Staying at Melia Caribe Tropical. OK to take my laptop? |
Travel Info I want to bring my laptop for the flight to/from Punta Cana/Chicago; however, I'm not sure if it will be safe to leave in the room while we are there. We're staying in a Royal Service suite (not that it should matter, I guess.) Has anyone been there that can advise? Thanks! Travel Tips I've stayed at Melia Hotel in Santo Domingo, not Punta Cana, but although I had no problem it doesn't mean you're not at risk. If I were you I would bring my laptop and maybe hide it at the top of the closet where the safety vault is. Sometimes when I went to the pool and didn't wanna carry my handbag I would sneak it in that place where it was clearly invisible. That, or you can talk to the Manager for any suggestions. They are very friendly and open to any way they can help you to make your stay pleasant. Good luck. Others I think you would be fine, theft occurs in many hotels, it's random so if you need it, I would take it. =) I would not, have had friends that have had Ipods and laptops stolen. Usually it happens to be housekeeping. If you take it everywhere you go you would be fine. But why take the chance, seems kind of silly to take it. Check with Hotel, you get free internet access at the Melia with the Royal Suites. There is a safe but depending on the size of your laptop it may not fit in,soso if you are concerned check with the hotel or leave it at home. i took mine with me from chi to punta cana and it was great movies music and everything else i needed. i had a safe in my room with a personal code that i set myself. if you have that i would say take it. have fun suncape the beach, punta cana 06' |
