Whats a good all inclusive resort in the Dominican? |
Travel Info Looking for a good one> Travel Tips I have stayed in the Sunscape resort. It was really nice. If you have a room facing the ocean, the view is spectacular. Every building complex has a swim out right to the pool. The nightlife is pretty good. there is a casino right in the main lobby, as well as a "disco". the maid service is excellent. My favourite was the sports bar though. They have two air hockey tables, two pool tables, two ping pong tables, two foozball tables, and a variety of board games. meals were pretty good. theres a mexican and japanese restaurant. the japanese restaurant is tremendous. it's a lot of fun. the staff is really nice, pretty easy going. Others Try a place called the Native Nizzle. You might look into the Viva Wyndham Resorts. They have a couple there. We just got back from Playa Del Carmen and stayed at the Viva Wyndham Maya. Really enjoyed it. Don't know much about the Dominican Republic though. The Viva Wyndham Resorts are not 5 star plush type resorts but probably a 4 star with very reasonable prices. Hope this helps. There are so many nice resorts to choose from. I like the Punta Cana area that's where I can recommend a resort from. Secrets Excellence is nice resort with 8 Restaurants,11 bars2 pools and a casino. With a full service Spa.It's an adults only resort. Beautiful beach. All-Inclusive Paradisus Punta Canta is another nice one. Their rooms are Suites, 10 Restaurants, 7 bars, 24 hour room service, gym and spa. All -Inclusive. It's on Bavaro Beach, which is considered the best beach. The Iberostar Resorts and Riu Palace Resorts are also very nice. Good Luck, I hope you find your special resort. All inclusive resorts are horrible. They exploit local labor and re-patriate the profits overseas, leaving behind bankrupt local business and nothing for the people, except the politicians they bribe. They also tell lies about how dangerous the country is outside in order to sell more of their overpriced excursions. I would also be very careful drinking the cheap booze the serve, as most of it is just blended with ethanol and is not really distilled. Why not participate in the real world and just go to a nice hotel, and partonize local businesses so that some families can support themselves and put their children through school? I've been to Viva Dominicus Palace twice. It's a beautiful resort in La Romana. La Romana is about a 2 hour drive from the airport, but there are so many fun stops on the way, and it's cool to see the real non-resort areas of the Dominican Republic on the way. It's a very beautiful and cheap resort. I recommend staying in the thatched roof huts on the beach if you can, but if you can't, it's all good. Just a side note: "the Dominican" is a person, just like 'the American' or 'the Canadian'. Your question refers to 'the Dominican Republic' or 'the DR'. Stay well, Amy |
