Located in Santo Domingo 6>Rich and fertile land where even the fence posts root and grow. Located all over the country. 7>Lago Enriquillo-is the largest lake in the caribbean. It is salt water, the lowest point in the Caribbean and home to many Salt Water Crocodiles, Iguanas and Pink Flamingos. The Crocs are pretty mellow and I was in the water fairly close to them.taking pictures with my cell phone because I forgot my camera. 8>Amber Museum-Amber is from the age of the Dinasaurs and the bigger the bugs inside the more the stones are worth. Mining for Amber is between Puerto Plata and Santiago 9>Puerto Plata Lighthouse-Oldest lighthouse in the new world. 10>Altos de Chav贸n - Amphitheatre Altos de Chav贸n is a village that recreates a 16th century Mediterranean village, with a church, amphitheatre, park, houses, art gallery, restaurants, museum, shops, disco, arts school and artist's studios. It all began in the 70's when Charles Bluhdorn had this idea of building a village on top of River Chav贸n as a birthday present for his daughter. The construction works begun in 1976 and they used materials such as coral block and terracotta. Nowadays this village hosts an arts school and many of its houses are inhabited by students (from all over the world). This village has astonishing views over River Chav贸n and the Caribbean Sea 11>Cabarete-World class wind surfing beach. Annual international competitions are held there. Kite Beach is also a world class Kite Surfing Beach and international competitions are held there every year. |
