I want to go to Ireland for a month with some friends. Any suggestions on how to do that? |
Travel Info I'm an american so im wondering what kind of papers im going to need, where are the best places to go, how expensve is it, just a little basic information about what i might have to deal with. Thank you. Travel Tips You are definitely going to need a passport. It takes about 1-2 months to get, so make sure that you give yourself enough time. Then, book your flight. I suggest looking for flights on a Tuesday or Wednesday (opposed to the weekends) because they are usually cheaper. Then, you can get online to look up hostels. You guys should stay in hostels- they are a very cheap way to travel overseas. A good site to look at is: www.hostelworld.com. You can even book online, which is nice to do. While you are there, definitely make sure that you see the beautiful country side. Go and see the cliffs and the castles. They are absolutely amazing. Dublin: St. Patrick's Cathedral, Temple Bar, Trinity College, National Library and Museum, and of course walking around the town. Galway: Galway Bay and off the coast- take a ferry to the Aran Islands and see Dun Aonghasa (ancient fort on a cliff) Cliffs of Moher Killarney: Torc Waterfall in Killarney National Park Dingle Peninsula: The town of Dingle, Dunbeg- a fort and cliffs- beautiful sight. Waterford: Where the Waterford Crystal is located. These are the places that I went to while I was on my trip in Ireland. I was only there for a week- but you are very lucky to be going for a month! Make the MOST of your trip, and don't wish to come back home! You will love your time there! Ireland is such a beautiful country! Good luck with your trip, and if you have anymore questions on how to get there, don't hesitate to let me know! Others post office, than a travel agency. All you need to get into the country is a valid passport, you will fill in a form similar to the US visa weiver programme either in the airport or on the plane. Than on arrivial you will go through immigration, and once cleared you collect your bagsm and leave the airport. Ireland is pretty small so its pretty easy to see a lot of it. I imagine you will arrive in Dublin so spend a few days there, and while there take the Dublin City Tour, also head to Temple Bar where there are many bars and clubs. Grafton Street and the streets around are pretty cool too. For awesome scenery head to the west coast, sligo and galway are pretty cool. Dublin can be quite expensive. They use the euro there which is pretty close to the dollar so the exchange rate wont cripple you like the english pound would. Hope you find this information of use, and enjoy your vacation |
