Travel Info What is the best way to get to galway from dublin and back for a days racing in september? Travel Tips Hey ok im from dublin but i go to college in galway so i regurly travel between dublin and galway.. with the train your looking at a 2 and half hour journey costing you 42euro return. alot more comfortable and the quickest way. with bus if you choose bus eireann your looking at around 3hr 45min journey with a 10min break in athlone costing you 17euro. with citylink its a bit quicker closer to 3hr30mins costing you 18euro(in or around but not much more or less) with the car depending on your driving skill and your risk level with the new motorway between 2hr30mins and 3hrs! you could also fly but for what its worth the price and time different doesnt make it worthwhile! have fun! Others You can take the train from Dublin (Heuston Station) to Galway City. From there you'll need either a bus or taxi to the racecourse. See http://www.irishrail.ie/home/# for train times and tickets. Or you could fly Dublin to Galway with Aer Arann - http://www.aerarann.com/ Their is no best way.. :) expect to waste hour's trying various mean's of transport, even if you get train, you'll probably be standing most of the way.. ok The best way? How big is your budget? Some will certainly travel by privately chartered helicopter!! google celtic helicopters and you may be able to book one...cheers |
