Dublin to Portugal by boat?

Travel Info
im terrified of flying and am going to portugal (lagos) in august .with my partner but i dont think i can get on the plane trying to find out if theres a ferry from dublin to portugal direct i know you can get a ferry to spain.but im just trying to find out if i can sail direct.thanks in advance..sian

Travel Tips
I think you'll have to go to the UK first.
Brittany Ferries sail twice weekly from Plymouth (March - December) making the crossing to Santander in around 24 hours.
P&O sail from Portsmouth to Bilbao in around 30-35 hours, twice weekly from March - December.

Others
I think you can....if I recall a friend of mine ferried from Portugal to Ireland...but now that I think of it he may have driven to spain first. Look it up.
The only direct ferry link form Ireland to mainland Europe is to FRANCE. There is no direct ferry link Ireland to Spain or Portugal. You gotta go to Plymouth, Southampton or Portsmouth via Rosslare Fishguard or whatever. However, if you are back-packing it is not unknown to get a lift on an overland truck, but I don't know where you start! Any takers?
