I'm moving to Ireland, but can't afford a removals or shipping company, any advice?

Is it possible to hire a van here in England, fill it up with my stuff, get the ferry over to Ireland and drop it off in Dublin?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Edwin

sell everything they have shops there now, where you moving from,??
I moved from Belfast to Scotland in a hired van. I know they are both UK, but there must be companies who cover ROI & UK that you can pick up & drop off in different places.
Check out if there is a "Lets" program in your area. If not start one. Instead of $$$ you use "lets" $$$.
Can also use 50% reg $$$ & 50% "Lets" $$$
It like an advance: "Pay it Forward" idea.

I'm in Canada & our "Lets" program is great

Yeah, you should just rent a little van and ferry it over. I tried out pick up in London and drop-off in Dublin and that's not a problem....See Hertz below for example.
