Dublin on New Years Eve - Where to do, what to do ? |
Travel Info Me and my partner (aged 26 & 29) will be travelling to Dublin on New Years Eve. Can anyone recommend the best things to do, places to go ? Are the street celebrations worth it and where are they ? Where is the best place for the chimes ? all the usual things I guess, any help would be most appreciated. Thanks Travel Tips If you want to watch drunks puke in the street Dublin the place to go, go to Amsterdam its better, or if you must come to Ireland go to Galway, far better, Dublins a kip Others Bad news is that Dublin is not a brilliant New Year's Eve venue from the normal Dublin pub scene perspective. Many of the pubs close really early (6 or 7 pm). However in recent years we've found that it's a good evening for going out for a nice dinner around Dame street and then catching the midnight bell ringing at Christchurch where a bit of crowd forms. The rest of the festive season though is pretty nice in Dublin with lots of expats coming home and people relaxing and enjoying the festivities around town. I'm a native and live in the city centre. There isn't much in the way of street celebrations cos it is pretty much just drunk eijits everywhere but there's loads of pubs and clubs that do a great night! A lot of places do live music and the old traditional pubs are always good, or if you prefer there's plenty of good nightclubs. http://www.dublinpubscene.com/hotstuff/n... |
