What to do when i go to Ireland?

Im planing a Trip with my Family for when i turn 18 to see my family over there. is there any certain etiquette
I need to know about considering the fact that in American?!? Also is there any major cool places that Iabsolutely need to see when i'm there?

Okay, I'm not being sarchastic, just thorough.

Try to explore more than the city of Dublin. It's great for a shoppng trip or a night out, but it will begin to get depressing.

Remember to drive on the left side of the road! And all the signposts have gone metric, so everything is in kilometers.

The roads are crap, so if you're a bad traveller, be prepared. Also, in Ireland, you can travel for miles without finding a restroom, so go whenever the opportunity arrises.

As someone mentioned before, no tip is required. Etiquette is pretty much non-existant there. You're grand the way you are, don't worry about it.

It is not possible to see all sights across the country in one trip. But there are smaller areas within which there is an abundance of things to do. All over Co. Kerry, Co. Cork, Co. Wicklow, Co. Wexford, Co. Galway, Co. Mayo, Co. Clare, Co. Sligo and Donegal you will be spoiled for choice. Whichever is nearest to wherever your family resides should provide sufficient sight-seeing opportunities. But I would particularly advise Kerry, Clare, Galway and Mayo. The Atlantic Coast is magnificent.

I'm also planning to come down to Dublin so can you suggest how should I prepare myself as I'm first time traveling to Dublin in fact out of my country...I don't know How people will be thr and thr social a etiquette....I'm from India

Get drunk.
Lots of cool things to do. Which you'll do will depend on what kinds of interests you have and what parts of Ireland you visit.

Things that I'd recommend to friends heading over, especially if they want to get out of Dublin:
Birr Castle and the Irish Leviathan: the telescope was the largest telescope in the world for decades.
Newgrange and Knowth: building older than the Egyptian pyramids and they're still water-tight.
Aran Islands--take the small plane from near Galway out to the small islands, rent a bicycle and see what's there. The Cliffs of Moher are nearby, but I never managed to see them in clear weather.
In the North, the Giant's Causeway is worth a trip.
(All of these sites are covered extensively on the internet and in guidebooks.)

If you're going to be driving around, I found that having a good travel guidebook was nice: I'd look up all the small towns as I was coming up to them. Lots of times there would be some historic building there, some famous person was born there, and it was worth stopping for 10 minutes to take a look, when otherwise I would have just kept right on driving. $15 for a travel book is a small price compared to all the other travel expenses.
Cliffs of Moher will blow you away. In my opinion greatest place to visit while there. All of the West coast is great, Galway is a nice town, good starting point for an excursion north or south from there.

Etiquette: Most small pubs don't except tips and you should always pay in cash if you can.
