Moving to Dublin Ireland for six months. Need info about cost of living in Dublin Ireland vs. USA .? |
Travel Info I am beeing transferd to Dublin for six month next year. Need info about cost of Housing, Tranportation, cars, Groceries, Food, Resurants, etc. any thing will help. Travel Tips This may not help at all, but I went to Ireland in October. I exchanged $700 and got 500 Euro. Everything I bought cost a little more as well. In the US you'd pay $1.25 for a 20 oz. bottle of pop, over there its 1.35-1.40 Euro. And the bottle is smaller. You pay more and get a little less from what I gathered. However, I didn't notice myself going broke too much quicker than on a vacation in the States. Plus, Dublin is gorgeous and I really didn't care. Others A lot better than the USA. 80% of USA, for example is owned by just over 7% of its people. The average house price is 400,000 EUROS. Average wage 26000 euros. Taxes take up around 35% of this but there is very low unemployment. A good car is at least 9,000 with 2500 taxes a year (very high, i know) BUT Dublin has brilliant public transport (the luas line and buses). Groceries cost over 130 euros a week for my family of 4. GOOD LUCK! http://www.Ireland.com the official Irish tourist website |
