Where can i get a trade directory for early 1900's in Dublin? |
Travel Info I am trying to trace details of the Curran mattress factory which was near Trinity College in Dublin and was around about 1900-1930 ish Travel Tips I don't think you will find a lot of info on the web. I just did a quick check in my 1934 (original) Thom's Directory of Ireland and see a 'Thos. Curran, mattress maker, 1a Whitefriars place' listed in the 'Nobility, gentry, Merchants and Traders' section (p. 1775). This may be his home address- I would have to do more hunting to find out about his business. That street is no really near TCD, by the way - about 2 k away. No Curran is listed under the mattress makers section, but he might not have been still trading in 1934. If you like this info, please support my web site below. Trade Directories Curren Mattress Factory Dublin trades Dublin Manufactorers.............. also anything else that you can think of. Another way is to try the library, or a local history society of Dublin. hope this is helpfull to you.
