I need to find an affordable apartment in Dublin for 6 to 9 months. Can anyone help me? Any tips? |
Travel Info I will be moving to Ireland this friday (26-1) to work there on a project for a period of 6 to 9 months. I've been browsing daft.ie, which seems to be the biggest housing/rental site for ireland, but it seems hard to find something decent and affordable in or around Clontarf, Dublin. I'm hoping to find something around 鈧?00 a month in rent, but I've seen things that go up to 鈧?500 a month and not too many even under 1000... I can't afford that, and sharing apartments seems to increase the likelihood of running into problems (either regarding rent, housekeeping, privacy, noise or any of the other things that can be troublesome when you get too many ppl crammed together in a small place) If anyone has any helpful feedback, suggestions, hints, tips or whatever about renting in Dublin (particularly around Clontarf) I'd be very, very appreciative. I don't need that much, but given the temporay nature of my stay there, it'll need to be furnished and I'd need at least some quiet. Thank you. Travel Tips The best apartment/flat search in Ireland (especially Dublin) is www.daft.ie You can list the area you most prefer and put a maximum rent charge in the search. I would suggest you search on daft.ie and click on any of the properties to rent. Then, check the map and find any properties just outside that area for less rent. The map would be easier to use, because it sounds like you want a specific location, rather than a price. May I also suggest you look for any property in Dublin for 500 euro a month that's near a DART station. That way, you can easily travel anywhere you want, especially in and out of the city if you need anything. It is on the DART line so it will be easy to get there if you live anywhere else thats on the line. Daft really is ur best bet, try the acomm sharing its not so bad, just go for a place with professionals, maybe sharing with just one other person. There's no way you'll get an apartment in Dublin for 鈧?00 a month, unless it's a drafty one room bedsit with shared bathroom. For a half-way decent one-bedroom apartment, you're looking at a starting rent of around 鈧?00-900 a month. I have a very small apartment, drafty and cold, with a microscopic bedroom and no separate kitchen, for 鈧?80, and that's cheap. Good luck! |
