You will need a passport to get to Ireland. Once there your drivers license will be all you need. Before applying for your passport be sure you take a recent picture (I went to the local photographer and had a passport photo made for $16.00), also take your birth certificate. Your local Post Office should have all the information you will need. Be sure to allow 6 weeks to receive your passport. Congratulations on your trip and have a wonderful and memorable time. I am assuming you are British, it's like this, you can use your UK drivers permit with the photo on it, to travel anywhere in the Euro. Union. but if you need to rent a car while away from the UK, you may need the paper half of your licence. I have been using my UK Licence to ID MYSELF IN SEVERAL EURO STATES. so I don't see any need for you to worry, ask at your booking agent what is required for personal ID and they are sure to guide you so you get it right. But, you have to know, that a UK passport is the best way to get into and out of anywhere on the planet, Bon Voyage, and enjoy Ireland, I do, but then again I am Irish........ Tony M
