Dublin Airport? |
Travel Info Hi, Next month I am flying from Dublin airport...My sister says that with the new airport security, there is very long queues and that we should go 3 hours before the flight it due to take off, which is 7:00am. Has anyone else experienced problems like this in dublin airport? Does the security check take long? Any advice would be greatful. I do no that you hav eto put liquids in a bag, take of your shoes and coat etc Travel Tips 7am is the busiest time of day in Dublin Airport as flights are leaving to almost every major city in Europe between 7am and 8am. I would take heed of the warnings. The security queues take a long time to go through. Sometimes they insist on shoes and belts off. Others We nearly missed our flight from Birmingham to Dublin due to this problem but not from Dublin to Birmingham. There is no point going 3 hours before as you can't check in till 2 hours before anyway. Though I would recommend once you have checked in you go straight through to departures rather than having a cider like us girls did! Good luck & have a good flight! I flew from Dublin last year back to Doncaster and we came straight through - If you do need clarification just phone the airport up and they'll tell you if any temporary 'extra' security measures are in place. security is a night mare at many airports now, stansted is my most recent experience, where check in has improved a little cause ryanair seem to have put on extra staff to speed up the process, you still need to be there two hours in advance. Then you queue for up to an hour to get through the security check at the passport check as you move to the waiting area for boarding, so i would think the minimum time you need in the terminal is two hours. it depends because sometimes theres a lot of passengers on certain days.i think you should be there 2 hours before your flight if you have many luggage to check-in 3 hours is enough. have a safety journey. 2 hours is usually enough but once checked in you should go straight through security because time to get through there can be an hour at some busy times. many times queues at security checks have taken a long time, and generally ak you to take mobile, keys, coins, jewellery off, or out of bag and put on tray, also take off shoes, jacket belts etc and put on conveyor belt, this can take some time to get everyone through, and esp at other side people organising themselves again with shoes etc. however, i think it depends , i went to lanzorote over xmas from dublin, and no probs at all, didnt have to take off shoes or coat at all, v casual about it, and only took a second,so i think it can vary.. check in times , 3 hours is prob too early , maybe 2 hrs enough to give yourself. |
