Less touristy Dublin nightlife? |
Travel Info Hey, myself along with all the other men in my immediate family, that's 6 of us, will be in Dublin for 6 nights this summer. We're staying just off of O'Connell street on the north side. We're pretty big into going out and drinking, but less into velvet rope kinds of places. We'd also like to avoid the overly touristy places. Does anyone have any recomendations? I've heard the north side is less touristy in general, but are there any good more bohemian or local types of places on the south side, or north, or anywhere else. Any advice would be appreciated. Travel Tips You're already well informed! The northside is great - you tend to get cheaper drink. However, I would recommend you try the Wexford street area - the stags/hens that frequent Temple Bar don't know about it (nor do that many tourists)and you get a good mix of Dubs and others. It is still bohemian because there are still genuine Dubs living in the area (Dublin 2/8). Have a look at my pubs in my Dublin guide (I've given you page 3 below) and please tell me what you think when you return (you will find contact info on the site). It's still within walking distance of O'Connell Street (nearer is Clearys on Amiens St - see http://www.hidden-dublin.com/pubs/pubs07... ). You're also most welcome to write and ask for any other related info. Have a great time! Source(s): http://www.hidden-dublin.com/pubs/pubs03... Other Travel Tips Try Turks head in Temple Bar, Zanibar on the liffey is also a great place. There is a nightclub out past Malahide called Tamangoes! Great mix of people of all different ages there. Good place for a good night out! check out wicklow street which is pretty bohemian. Turks Head or O'Sheas |
