I'm going to Dublin for 3 nights, 2 days - need advice.?

Travel Info
I'm looking for advice on things to see and do, places to avoid (for safety or any other reasons).. just some general advice for a short visit to Dublin.

Travel Tips
Both of the previous answerers give excellent advice. I would also add that Dublin offers a huge variety of things to do, beyond the usual tourist trail. If you want to see tips and advice about more unusual features (such as the bones of St Valentine, location of the first performance of Handel's Messiah, best clubs and pubs off the tourist trail (ie., away from Temple Bar), best locations for traditional music and much more, please visit my site below.

Have a great time,

cant really think of much actually, and i live on the outskirts
first thing to do is to catch a 'hop-on-hop-off' tourist bus service...where they will make u see all the major monuments and historical places during whole day span. the best part is this bus service is runs throught the day and u can hop off and spend more time on some tourist place and can skip some non-interesting stuff.
Dont go to unknown lanes in the nights! and enjoy Guinness
When you're booking a room, make sure it's in either Dublin 1 or 2 (postal codes). Anywhere else will be too far from the City Centre and/or sketchy. Don't book a room in the Temple Bar area if you want to sleep at night. Grafton Street and all of the little streets off of Grafton Street are fun and picturesque. Don't, I repeat, don't attempt to J-Walk, even if everyone else is doing it. Irish drivers don't slow down if they see someone in the road when they're not supposed to be. In fact, they speed up. I almost died--twice. And don't stay at Issac's or Kinlay House (ew), if you are looking for a hotel instead of a hostel, try Latchford's of Baggot Street, it's central, quiet, clean, and you'll get a lot of room for not very much (especially if you book through a general hotel booking site). Have fun!
I lived in Ireland for a few months last year.
well, a trip to the guinness factory is interesting, theres also the "dublin city tour buses" will show your around the tourist attractions. check out the websites: www.failteireland.ie or www.ireland.ie or www.visitdublin.com for more information!!
