l am from quito and l can tell you this... it was a very important place for indigineous civilizations to watch the stars (it is right on the equator), it麓s in the middle of the andes (literaly), it麓s the city that is closest to the sun in the world, the colonial part of the city is the biggest in latinamerica, we are the 1st city to become independent from spain in 1809, lots of things to see, lots of culture, concerts, places to see, great view from everywhere, quito originaly means center of the world.
