What is the average weather usually in Ecuador? |
Travel Info I need the minimum and maximum temperature for Ecuador. Travel Tips Is this is a trick question ? Did you know Ecuador gets its name because it is on the Equator. Also the Gallapagos Islands in the Pacific are part of Ecuador. No other country has such a wide range of habitats and climates. Gallapogos Pacific Ocean climate. Near Manta on the coast it rarely rains so it is classed as a desert. The coast near Guayaquil is typical coastal tropical rainforest very steamy. The Andes pass through Ecuador so rising from the coast as the altitude increases all sort of climates and habitats exist. There are Volcanoes and snow capped mountains in Ecuador, in fact Cotipaxi is a snow covered volcanoe within a degree of the Equador. If you drive over the Andes ( I recommend it ) you start to descend into the Amazon jungle also part of Equator. So you see there is no average. If you stay in the capital Quito although there are some months when it is more wet ( rains ) the temperature stays close to 70 degrees F most of the time. It is at 10,000 feet and a little hilly in places so give yourself a few day to acclimatise. I recommend it, not too hot and not too cold. Others lived in Guayaquil, it averages hot and humid, and hot and wet, I the lowest temp I ever saw on a reader board (at 6:30 am) was 74f. It mostly ranged from 24c to 36c. Not scientific, just my personal experience. Most of the time it's pretty average. |
