Has anybody been to the Galapagos and what they think about it.? |
Travel Info I was wondering if it is woth going and mostly how expensive it is to visit etc..etc..?thanks. Travel Tips I have been to the Galapagos Islands and it was amazing. It definitely is for the nature lover. All the animals let you get right next to them and they are not scared of you. It truly is amazing. As far as pricing the best and cheapest way to go if you have a bit extra time is to fly into Quito Ecuador and spend a couple of days looking for a boat that is just about to leave and get the last minute discount. They are trying to fill the boats and they will discount up to 50%. I paid about $700 for a last minute trip but this was about 5 years ago. Once you get your trip you then need to fly to the Galapagos and you can only do this from Ecuador so get a flight and pay the National Park entrance fee of about $100 or $150, I don't remember the exact price. The Galapagos Archipielago is a unique experience that you cannot find enywhere else in the world, if you are courious about nature, the formation of islands from the bottom of the sea, the different types of species and the habitatts. Etc. Etc. It is a wonderful trip. If you have the resouces do not miss it. There are trips for any budget!! from the very rich on luxurious yachts and first class accommodations to trips for the poor and students who can't spend a lot. If you were borned in Ecuador or The border with Colombia you have 50% discount on the air tickets. If you are american or any other nationality you must take a tour.
