What is the best way to get from Quito to Guayaquil? |
Travel Info We are flying in to Quito, want to go to the Volcano area and then over to the coast to fly out of Guayaquil. We have one week. Thanks! Travel Tips I would actually suggest flying from Quito...and try to get a seat on the right-hand side of the plane (they're usually free-seating so you sit where you like) for excellent views of Cotopaxi. That way you can also spend time visiting some of the smaller, interesting places around Quito such as Otavalo and Papallacta. It's a good 8+ hours by bus otherwise. Others flying is the best way to get to Guayaquil since it is only about 30 minutes compared to 8-10 hours of bus ride although ive never seen what Guaya. has, from what i heard it is a beautiful place to go to An Ecuadorian who knows his way Plane - if you'd get window seat and weather is not cloudy because scenery is priceless and it is fast only 40 mins. Bus - if you are adventerous enough. It takes long hours to go downhill winding. Quito is 8000 ft above sea level while Guayaquil is at sea level. P.S. Go to Cotopaxi National Park from Quito, it is marvellous to watch the volcano and arid lands around it, but it is too high of an altitude and cold, you might get blackout due to lack of oxygen. |
