What is the best way to get to Machalilla national park from Quito. Is the park closer to Pto. Lopez or Manta, or is there a closer town? If I want to hit Machalilla National Park, Pto. Lopez and Montannita, what order would be best if I am ending in Guayaquil (starting in Quito) and is there anything I should see on the way.

Travel Tips

I would take a flight from Quito to Manta, and then a bus/car downwards through the Ruta del Sol (you will be bordering the coastal part of Ecuador).
You will see first the Machalilla National Park, then Puerto Lopez, and then Monta帽ita... And if you continue through the Ruta del Sol, you will get to Guayaquil in about 3 more hours.

Monta帽ita is a must (great place, great beach)
