Travel Tips
I guess you ate charqui when you travelled to Ecuador? Charqui (that's the right way to write it) is like beef jerky, it's dried meat and usually it's llama's or alpaca's dried meat. The people in the highlands (and ancient incas) used to salt and dry meat during the winter and therefore dehydrate it in order for the meat to last months.
Others
It's a traditional Russian unit of volume containing about 123.0 milliliters, 4.159 U.S. fluid ounces or 4.329 imperial fluid ounces. There are 6.25 charki in a boutylka (bottle) and 10 in a schtoff. The word charka means a cup or glass. It is also a term in the archaeological field.
