Who has been to scotland out there? |
Travel Info i lived in new zealand for five years but no matter where i go i'll always come home to scotland.do you like scotland? Travel Tips Yes, I live in Edinburgh...love it. Best things are ceilidhs, the history, the fact u can see hills from the centre of town and the Edinburgh festival Others I went to Glasgow. Truth be told, there wasn't much there, except for a great Hilton and a noodle house. But I've heard Edinburg is awsome. Yes, many times the last being July 2005 when we were at Arrocher.....took the train up to Mallaig. We were going to go further north to visit friends but the Tall Ships were ar Newcastle so we came south early so we could see them....superb! We are thinking of visiting New Zealand soon. Unfortunately yes I have been.....several times.....but someone forgot to put the lights on each time... Grey grey grey (apart from Glasgow which is dirty red). Me! lived there for seven years and love going back. Although to be honest, first impressions weren't that great. we initially moved to Aberdeen. In February. Grey, grey, grey.... and everyone seemed to be wearing black. Not particularly cheerful. But with the onslaught of spring and a growing appreciation for the finer things Scotland has to offer, we settled in quite nicely. Don't believe the propaganda told by the English Scotland is beautiful, Sub Tropical coconut palms abound the beaches are truly out of this world, the whole country is a Picture Postcard I love Scotland and have been all over England and Scotland over a dozen times, from Cornwall on the southeast of England, all the way up to Orkney and Shetland, above Scotland in the North Sea. I love the people of Scotland (where my ancestors came from) because they are friendly, down to earth, practical, and have a good sense of humor. They are in general hard-working, thrifty, quiet and private, too. This is how I am, too, so I suppose I'm also seeing the best in myself reflected in them, just because they reflect my heritage and some very good travel memories. I feel more at home on Scottish soil than English, because Scots are more down to earth than the English, and there are fewer class divisions. I like Scotland better than America because working-class Scots are not nearly as insecure as working-class and blue-collar Americans. Children in the UK are invariably quieter and better behaved than American kids. I always look forward to going back to Scotland, because I have dear friends in Fife. Cheers, K (of Clan Ross on my father's side) |
