When's the best month to visit Scotland? |
Travel Info We are considering late September of 2006, especially the Edinburgh area. Travel Tips September is a great time to go to Scotland and when you go if your planning on traveling around to different tourist attractions you should get the "Scottish Heritage pass" . It is a pass you can buy that you can get into the major tourist attractions like the Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle and they give you a map of the other place you can visit. It is by days like 3 days , 6 days and is the cost of like going into one castle. Myself, my sister and Mom bought a 3 day and we had rented a car and went driving. We went to alot of castles. Our favorite was Doune Castle, the setting for the "Monty python and Holy grail" scene with the french man. It was fun to go around take pictures and you could go almost anywhere in the castle. Dunbarton was more of a fort but had beautiful view and was alot of exercises (alot of stairs). One thing is you will get really great work out on you legs when you go. Others The month your mother in law is coming to visit. (Answered by Jenny's dad.) Should be fine in Sept. Scotland isn't really COLD, it's more just rainy during the winter months. Also go to Glasgow & make sure you go to the highlands! Truely amazing. JULY ... it gets cold as early as september ha ha ha non its a dump..no only kidding any time of year its what you make of it while you are there, i find it nice in august. April or September! Had snow when i went up in April for first few days of holidays! Plus September for the Autumn colours starting to show! You must visit the highlands, they are so beautiful (especially Fort William, Glencoe, and Oban!). Edinburgh is great though for art galleries and you have to visit Jenners Dept Store on Princes Street! august has Edinburgh festival but busy time though. July should be pleasant |
