Travel Tips
Visit a few shows on the Fringe or Edinburgh Festival in the late morning, there's something for everyone's taste. Just look at the flyers and programmes that litter the streets. From Princes Street, turn into Jenners for some excellent and authentic shopping, then walk down the Royal Mile, have a drink, and visit Harvey Nichols at St Andrew Sq. Continue on to Charlotte Square via the grandeur of George Street, to hop in at the Edinburgh Book Festival there - hear your favourite author read, buy some books, then grab a bus or taxi to Cramond. Sip iceteas and read books by the waterfront, overlooking the Forth bridges. In the late afternoon, return to the city and visit the Castle. When you're done, hang around to check out the Military Tattoo (it's fun even if you dislike marching bands and military), then stroll down to the Grassmarket and Cowgate to dance the night away. If that's not your thing though, walk up to the Royal Mile, visit St Giles Cathedral, walk further down to the Parliament and fly a kite at the foot of Arturs Seat.
