Does my fiance need a visa how do we apply???? |
Travel Info she is from usa, we are waiting for papers from home office 2 get married. if we can get married then what do we have to do for her to live here???.....she came over with her passport allowing for 6mths stay........which is soon up......but we are covered as we have sent this papers off for permission 2 marry...... Travel Tips if she she has completed any secondary education in scotland, she can apply for the fresh talent scotland initiative. they will give her a work visa to stay in the uk for 2 years. Others It would be nice to know what country you are in so as to check the correct law that is to be applied. You are not quite up to speed are you? Did you not think to check all this out on embassy/immigration websites? You want the Home Office to come and wipe your bottom too? I'm constantly amazed by people, I really am. You should just pay the fee and call the consulate's office. I know its like, 99 cents a minute but, I think you will get your best answer there. This is the UK govt website that has a calculator that shows whether a visa is needed andhow to apply. http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk If that doesn't cover your circumstances, then you'll need to contact them personally. your not covered, not even a little bit covered, if 6 months passes and you havent recieved the visa - so your holding it in your hands - shes there illegally, and faces deportation. contact embassy, and push for your appointment for whatever you need to do to keep covered. marriage - does not guarantee you a visa. Just to confirm where you're at: - You are a UK Citizen and your fiance is a US citizen. - She is presently in the UK on a tourist visa which will expire 6 months from the date she last entered. - You wish to marry in the UK so you have applied for a Certificate of Approval. If this is the scenario then you may have a problem - you are not able to apply for a Certificate of Approval (permission to marry in UK) from inside the UK, on your current visa. If you want to apply for a fiance visa then this has to be done outside the UK, in your case, in the US. |
