Travel Info
I'll be in Edinburgh on a Sunday evening. How late are the shops and restaurants open?

Travel Tips
Shops in the UK close much earlier than in the US. On any given weekday, most shops are closed by 6 or 7pm. So on a Sunday, some may not be open, and those that are will probably only be open until 4 or 5pm. It just depends on the type of store. Source(s): 3 months living in the UK

Other Travel Tips
Shops close around six/seven.

Restaurants open until about midnight at the latest.

While 99% of business now open on Sundays, like most British citys there stills seems to be a more relaxed feel about sundays, shorter hours of business, reduced bus service etc seem to slow the city down somewhat.

Saying that, its still very much a busy city with pubs and restaurants fairly busy on any night of the week.
