They're usually remote but friendly, and in the great outdoors of course. You'd have money to spare as well. Others go to loch ness or loch lomond, and stay at a bed and breakfast Glasgow city sounds expensive but really u can stay in travel inn hotel for bout 拢50 a night plus there are cheap things to do such as cinema, museums, and something for everyone to see the city itself is brill and free. p.s hope the weather is good perth Glasgow is great for a city break and not full of tourists. The world class Kelvingrove Art Museum has just opened plus it is packed with restaurants and bars. We stay at the Raddisson (4 star) which you can pick up some good leads via laterooms or expedia. Very central and modern. Also Malmaison or The Art House are supposed to be good - check out on tripadvisor. If you want somewhere more rural Oban 3 hours north west of Glasgow is beautiful; lots of stuning scenery and walks but also good supply of restaurants and pubs. You can take a ferry out to Mull for a day and look for sea eagles or whales. The best place to stay is The Manor House Hotel ( about 拢100 per night, less off season) which is which recommended and does wonderul local food - great place to hole up for a couple of nights.
