Who has been to Edinburgh zoo? |
Travel Info Who felt sorry for the polar bear? Travel Tips Edinburgh is the only zoo in Britain with a polar bear, it's pitiful to see as these magnificent animals are used to roaming over such vast areas. We weren't over impressed by the zoo, although the penguins were great. Others Where is the Edinburgh zoo? And what's wrong with the bear??? If there is abuse...report it! A baby pudu, one of the world鈥檚 smallest species of deer, has been born at Edinburgh Zoo as part of a conservation breeding programme. Born on 22 April 2006 to mother Amber and dad Henry, she has been named Honey by Kathleen Standen, Head Keeper, as she was the first person to find the fawn. Honey spends most of her days hiding out, which is a necessity in the wild to keep away from predators. She was only 300g when born with soft brown hair covered in pale spots. In the wild, this marking would provide camouflage to help protect her from predators. Head keeper, Kathleen Standen said: 鈥淲e are so happy to have another baby pudu. We have been very successful breeding this endangered species at Edinburgh Zoo. oh god yes, poor mercedes, swimming around and around in the dirty horrible water, with no friend to play with, just lots of tourists staring at her all day. poor wee thing. Yes,I have but Blair was missing from his cage. Nope, but I did make it as far as Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street and found plenty of zoo animals there. In fact, I had a close-up look at one in a side alley. And, yes, she was bearable. I have been, all the animals look well, but the polar bears enclosure was small and it did look bored. |
