What goes on in Edinburgh.....? |
Travel Info I am booked to go to Edinburgh in march with the girls (16th-18th), does anyone know of any special events we could go to, or any websites i could visit to look at the events when we visit. Or any clubs/pubs/bars you could recommend or restaurants. Thank you Travel Tips Mary Kings Close - http://www.realmarykingsclose.com/home.h... Historic Scotland tells you all about the castles in the area including Edinburgh Castle - http://www.historic-scotland.gov.uk/prop... I really enjoyed the Edinburgh Zoo - http://www.edinburghzoo.org.uk/... Visit the High Street on a Sunday Morning and you will actually be able to park on it. It is an interesting walk about. - http://www.edinphoto.org.uk/pub/pub_even... Deap Sea World is over the Firth - http://www.explore-edinburgh.com/html/de... If you stay at the Marriot the concierge will give you the secret password to get into Sea World for free. How far are you traveling from? If it is a distance.. say from the States (in which case I would pretend I was Canadian... not meaning to sound racist - just reflects reality - every Scot has a cousin in Canada) I suggest traveling up to the Orkney Islands. Well worth the trip. - http://www.historic-scotland.gov.uk/inde... And don't forget to visit Prince's Street if you enjoy shopping. Others Not so sure about activities but for lunch there is a great cafe on George IV Bridge called Cafe Lucano. Its opposite the statue of Grey Friar's Bobby. It is a little Italian place which serves pasta, pizza, toasted baguettes, toasties, pastries, and sandwiches. There is an a la carte menu for evenings but I don't usually go in the evening. It also does a fab range of speciality coffees with syrups or liquers. They also serve wine and the atmosphere is quite relaxed. It's my favourite dining venue at the moment! http://www.caffelucano.co.uk/ Well 4 a start, in Edinbrugh there is a huge castle where there is a canon fierd evry day a 1 o'clok, ther is some fair ground rides on princes street, a natinal hisory museum, a real good chinese place near the Usher hall, lods of shops like the tie rack(princes st) and so r most of the good shops. Well i hpoe that helps u ok Just keep yer valuables in your hotel room thats all. Embra is a great place for a night out however there are still a lot of shady characters around.. Just type in these places in a search engine with + Edinburgh to get their websites dude. Edinburgh Zoo Hollyrood Palace Edinburgh Castle Dynamic Earth Royal Yacht Britannia Plenty of pubs and clubs in Rose Street just behind Princes Street. Don't know of any special events in your dates, however there is always much to do here, it's a fantastic city and you'll love it. Enjoy yourself and don't get to drunk? Hedgy in Edinburgh |
