What are some cool sights to see in Edinburgh, Scotland?

Travel Info
My 22 year old brother and I want to see some sights, since we are going there for our mother's wedding. What can we do?

Travel Tips
What isn't there to do in Edinburgh?! If you can only do one thing while in Edinburgh, go to the castle. It's one of the most magnificent edifices ever built.
Try hiking up to Arthur's Seat to get breath taking views of the city.
Buy a ticket for one of those double decker tour buses. They give you a great overview of the city so you can select what you might want to do from them. They also know the answer to basically every question you can think of.
Museums include Museum of Scotland, National Portrait Gallery, Writers' Museum, Dynamic Earth, Museum of Childhood.
Walking down the Royal Mile could take all day too with all the little shops, restaurants, and pubs. If you're really into shopping then you must go to Prince's Street.
If the Queen isn't visiting then check out the Palace of Holyroodhouse. There is a new (well, relatively new)attraction called Edinburgh Dungeon where they use actors, sets, and wax figures to explain Edinburgh's darker, bloodier side. Very fun.
There is still plenty more but most of the fun is had byt just discovering everything Edinburgh has to offer on your own. Just wander around a little bit and pop into a pub or two. Have a great time and congrats to your mom!

One more thing - if you can, do a spooky walking tour from companies like Mercat or Mary King's Close. They are a blast.

last time i was in edinburgh, my friends and i hiked up arthur's seat (the big mountain) and that was probably my favorite thing i did on my week and a half holiday. you can see the whole city and its beautiful.
Holyrood palace and Edinburgh castle. Scott monument. Arthur's seat, Any of the museums. The toy museum is a must. The pubs!
Try to organise a visit to the street under the city chambers. The city chambers were built over an 18th century street. It is supposed to be haunted. Just wander round the old town.
