Girly weekend in Edinburgh?

Travel Info
Me and the girls are going to Edinburgh for the weekend commencing 16th March, for 2 nights. Does anyone have any suggestion to where we can go, what we can do etc. Are there any special events going off at all for this weekend? We are a young group and aren't really into sight-seeing................ thank you....

Travel Tips
I have LOVED Edinburgh every time I've visited. I'm not much into sight-seeing either, but the castle is one of the biggest in the UK (if not the biggest). There is so much fun shopping on Princes and Queen Streets. Hiking up to Arthur's Seat is always fun.

Sometimes there are art and craft faires along Lothian road on the weekends. Not sure about this weekend, though. And there are always concerts and events in the park around the castle. It's such a pretty city to take a walk in.

Enjoy your time there! Source(s): travelling. ^_^

Other Travel Tips
Go to Brass Monkeys, a great pub just down a wee street (the street is opposite Chambers Street, off the Lothian Road if I remember rightly). Watch Lothian Road after dark though as there are a few seedy strip clubs on it.

Anyway google it and you should get the address!

Edinburgh is famous for ghost walks which take place in the evening. You might want to check that out if you are a group together, as it could be good fun!

Also try visiting the website www.visitscotland.co.uk as that should have links to stuff going on in Edinburgh.

If you walk up and down the Royal Mile you will hit the tourist trap bigstyle! There are however some good pubs on it.

And if you walk down to the bottom of the Royal Mile, on Canongate there is a place called 'Le Plaisir du Chocolat' - it's a chocolate cafe! Great hot chocolate and tea to be had there, as well as REALLY tempting cakes and pastries...

Finally you might want to take a walk up Arthur's Seat - a hill opposite the Scottish Parliament. It only takes half an hour but you get great views of Edinburgh!
Used to live in Edinburgh.
Not into sight seeing? Fair enough but you HAVE to do at least one ghost tour! I went with a few girlfriends and we did 3 in one day (i have a friends who's obsessed with finding a ghost!).

But the basic pattern went:
Hot chocolate with whiskey (surprisingly nice and warming!)
Pub lunch with wine
ghost tour
pub
ghost tour
pub
dinner with wine
late night ghost tour!

All the bars and pubs are great (one the first night we went to a bar/club a couple of roads back from Princes street.... near Karen Millen.... it was a great club but FULL of public school kids with English accents- which was quite sexy but we were looking for some Scottish guys!!)

The Dome is great for lunch as is The Witchery (near the castle, go for their pre-theatre menu or lunch- dinner is VERY expensive)

Basically it's impossible to have a bad time there- everyone is lovely, the food and drink is great and its a beautiful city!

Im very jealous!
try the west end of princess st, lothian rd and up by the bridges(the other end of princess st) have a good time
Your best source of information is going to be the official tourism website for Edinburgh at http://www.edinburgh.org/ . There is another website for events at http://www.edinburghfestivals.co.uk/...

When you've worked out what to do, the best site for accommodation deals at the last minute or in advance is at http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/unite...

I hope this all helps and you have a good time.
