Hostel accomm. in Edinburgh in July? |
Travel Info Hi all, I've got pretty solid plans to be in Edinburgh in July, probably arriving on the 20th. As the Edinburgh Festivals start in August, will I have any problem finding last minute accommadation? I dont know my exact dates so I dont want to book anything until I get there, and I'm worried all the hostels will be booked out because of the time of the year. Does anyone know if I will have any problems with this? or will there be accommadation available until the festivals start in August. ..... Can anyone help? Thanks! Travel Tips You will more than likely have trouble finding hostels with vacancies. End of July and into August is the height of the peak season. There are lots of hostels to choose from though so there should be some rooms left open, not many though. Try as hard as you can to set the dates you want to be there as soon as possible. Then go online and reserve a bed while you're still at home. I am visiting Edinburgh in the summer of 2008 and I was planning on staying at Edinburgh University. They told me that rooms were already filling up for August and that's over a year from now! I'll put some good hostel booking sites in the source section. Oh, and I stayed in the Eglinton hostel before and it wasn't great but I also stayed in one above Belushi's Bar and I really liked that one. Just in case you were wondering about some of them :-).
