How much are the living expenses in Edinburg? |
Travel Info i am a student from Singapore intending to do a 4 week elective in Edinburg. How much money would i need to set aside for living expenses, including accomodation, food, travel? Travel Tips Edinburgh is slightly above average for the cost of living in the UK, but is a cheaper place to live than London and the South-East of England. Edinburgh University estimates that the average basic cost of living is around 拢170 per week, which includes accommodation, travel within Edinburgh, meals and entertainment. Source(s): http://www.international.ed.ac.uk/countr... Other Travel Tips Edinburgh has higher cost of living than rest of Scotland, so for 4 weeks you'll prob need about 500 groats in your sporran. Email these guys... http://www.scholarships.ed.ac.uk/undergr... it shouldn't be that expensive. can you get in touch with the student union and ask if they could advertise for you 'room wanted in shared house for 4 weeks' you should be able to get something for 拢100 per week depends where you want to travel to .... buses are cheapest food doesn't have to cost that much; buy things at the supermarket and cook up in your shared house! Depending on when you are coming you might want to try to get accommodation in the university halls of residence (if it is outside term time). Edinburgh University's Pollock Halls will likely be your best bet. I would imagine you would get a room for between 拢100 and 拢150 a week. Allow an extra 拢50 a week for expenses and any other money you may require for entertainment. |
