Parking in Edinburgh? |
Travel Info I am going to Edinburgh for the day next week and am driving. Am coming from the south, probaby up the A1. Any advice on where to park all day for nearest shops and restaurants? Hopefully somehwere fairly reasonable please?! Thanks in advance. Travel Tips The cheapest is likely to use one of the park and ride sites at Ingliston, Hermiston and Newcraighall. Parking is free and the bus is only a 拢2 return to the city centre. Others I have sometimes chosen to park in the cinema by Lothian Road. If you go and see a film you get 4 hours free parking. Another great place is Hermistain Gait retail park next to the railway station. There is free parking there, and some large retailers. Then you can get the train into Waverley or Haymarket for few pounds and no need to worry about getting a parking ticket. However, there is nothing in Edinburgh city centre that you cannot get outside so it is not worth the bother unless you are going for the festival. In which case pay heed, as this is excellent advice. http://www.edinburgharchitecture.co.uk/e... most places in town u have to pay , but george street is the best place to park Parking in Edinburgh is always difficult, but I usually stick with Castle Terrace which is just off Lothian Road (at the western end of Prince Street). Nowhere's cheap, but it's the best you'll get near the centre. personal experience Hi.. St Andrews Multi storey car park, just off Pricess Street at the Leith Walk end of town, its very central. Edinburgh City centre is fast becoming a no go area for cars as Princess is almost all bus lanes now. Enjoy the City ! |
