Do i need a passport that is in date to travel on easy jet to edinburgh, scotland? |
Travel Info I am due to travel to edinburgh on the 2nd june 2007, but my passport expired at the end of april, easy jet say they need valid photo id, even though my passport has expired will they accept me to travel with it. Travel Tips If you are flying within UK (eg London to Edinburgh) you can use any valid form of photo ID (check on easyjet website for valid forms). If travelling from outside UK, it will have to be a valid passport. You could try and use the expired passport, but with the current security checks, it probably would be picked up and you would be refused to fly. Best not try it. Probably worthwhile paying the little extra and getting your passport renewed at local passport office (can be done same day / next day) Others No but a photo driving licence will do just as well. Travel with an expired passport is NOT a good idea. You might be able to get out of the country, but you probably won't get back in. If flying within the UK, you do not need a passport. You will, however, need id to prove you are the person named on the ticket. Check with the airline to see what ID they will take. Don't totally believe that. You absolutely need a current passport to travel anywhere since Jan 2006. Even going to Mexico, Canada or the Caribean. |
