It depends - do you really like living in Aberdeen, and do you like what you have seen of Edinburgh previously?

Edinburgh is a really nice city to live in - its got loads going on, but is still small enough to walk most places and has tonnes of greenery which makes it a really pleasant city. Its probably also a bit easier in terms of transport to other places than Aberdeen.

On the other hand, it is very expensive to rent/buy property in Edinburgh - it will probably be quite a difference for you.

I think you should all go to Edinburgh for a weekend to stay and see what you think of the city...

make a list, first of the good things, then of the bad things. Look at the list, and weigh it out.
leave the granite city and come down to civilisation
Having lived in both my answer is a resounding YES YES YES. Edinburgh is such a vibrant city with so many things to see and do. Do it as soon as possible. I envy you.
Not an easy question to answer.
You already have to cope with higher than average prices in Aberdeen so I don't suspect that will be a major consideration.
Edinburgh obviously is much more central to everything and everywhere and if you really must move then do so, BUT personally I love Aberdeen and the whole of the North of Scotland and wouldn't uproot myself from that area unless I really had to.
You sound as though you're well settled and have a good social circle, and that will be difficult to give up or even maintain if you move.
Tough call..........hope you make the right one.....best wishes.
Edinburgh is the place to be. You and your husband are sure to meet lots of new friends and your children will enjoy
meeting new playmates. Go for it.
Don't even think of it -- very expensive, compared even to Aberdeen.
