Cheapest vacation to Edmonton, Alberta?

I want to find the cheapest way fly out to Edmonton from Toronto, (around the end of August, 2007) and the cheapest place to stay that's still close to all the attractions. There are three of us and we have always wanted to go. I've never booked a flight anywhere before so I wanted to know when was the best time to book? When is the best day of the week and time of the day to arrive and depart?

Well first things first try west jet and their prices can drop but you always have to stay on top of it check all the time. Definatly come out on a thursday that way you can get settled check out west edmonton mall and still enjoy the weekend and nightlife afterward you should come during the fringe festival great time and whyte ave rocks during this time. this year the fringe is August 16-26 or you can come during the klondike days now called capitol ex and I believe that is going to be july 20 as for hotels if you split the cost and one of you dont mind sharing a bed the cost shouldnt be to bad you can always find rooms with 2 queen beds hope you have a blast visiting us good luck
