Travel Info Is there a fatburger openning in edmonton? Travel Tips Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you but the company has no plans of opening one in Edmonton any time soon though Marketing Magazine says one should be opening by the end of this year. More to come on this. Here's a little run down on the FatBurger. Did you know..... Fatburger was started in the Los Angeles kitchen of Lovie Yancey where guests enjoyed the woman's homemade burgers. The first restaurant was opened on Western Avenue in Los Angeles in 1952. "It was called Fatburger because back in that era, in the 1940s and 1950s, fat, fat cat, fat city, meant that you were upwardly mobile and progressive," said Di Benedetto. "It meant . . . like yuppies of today. Fat meant you were happening, you were making it. That name stuck and it became an institution in Los Angeles . . . It was a Los Angeles phenomenon for many years." The company is planning on opening 3-5 in Calgary over the next 3-4 years. They also planning 30-40 restaurants across the Western Canada over the next few years later moving onto the Ontario market. Here's the location of the Calgary restaurant if you happen to be in that city. Daily 10:30 am - 8 pm. 33 Heritage Meadows Way SE 255-1144 If I hear of any new developments I will post it here. If you're going to Calgary - Enjoy!! Others good god i hope not... dont we have enough fast food joints in edmonton? mcdonalds, dairy queen, A&W, NY fries, KFC, pizza hut. gosssh the list goes on. why do we need any more places to make the youth of canada so FAT. we dont need 79% of the population over weight like in the states. but you know what? were really catching up with them. its sick and disgusting. why not make menu items like "heart attack on a bun" or "fatass burger" or "grease monkey salad" or "artery clogger." do we really need any more fast food places anywhere? could we live with healthier choices like going to Edo Japan or Subway? yes we could. but do we? no, not at all. we have to go for the fattest, greasest, lowest quality and most fried meat we can get our chubby, greedy little hands on. |
