Carpenter jobs in and around Edmonton? |
Travel Info i'm hoping to move to canada the begining of March next year, so want to start job hunting to get more of an idea, i'm hoping some companys might keep my details on record, does anyone know of any construction companys worth applying to. Travel Tips Right now, they are practically kidnapping anyone in the construction trades to work in Alberta. Not just Edmonton, but Calgary as well. And BC is also undergoing a construction boom and a trades shortage. If you belong to a union, ask your rep for a contact with the Alberta construction workers union. That would probably be the best place to start. If you are non union, ask anyway. They'd probably be happier to have to apply to a union shop than a non union shop. One other possibility -- type Calgary Institute of Technology into your search engine, and see if you can work through them. They train tradesmen and also have a placement service. Good luck to you, and welcome to Canada! Others Tons!! There are so many new homes being built there is never a lack of work. Try Salvi homes, they are the first one I can think of. You might want to re-think where you work in Canada. They are absolutely begging for carpenters in Kelowna, BC. Google kelowna carpenter jobs and you will get alot of hits. I can think of a few construction companies...try PCL, Ledcor, Fillmore Const., or Clark Builders. For a rough start, check the classified ads in the Edmonton Journal. Almost any construction company in Western Canada is desperate for workers right now. Here's the link, there are 45 ads for carpenters in today's paper.
