OK im confused...? |
Travel Info ok im moving to edmonton in october and in windsor (where i live right now) high school starts at grade 9 but then my mom says that high school doesnt start till grade 10 in Edmonton is that true or not?? Travel Tips Unless they've changed it since I went to school in Alberta (you don't even want to know how long ago...), it's like this: ECS (name they use for kindergarten) Grades 1-6 elementary school Grades 7-9 junior high Grades 10-12 high school My junior high was actually in the same building as an ECS/elementary school (not the one I went to) but we were in a separate part and didn't use the same facilities at the same time (like the gym) I don't think. In junior high we were moving from room to room for the different subjects but most of the time the groups themselves stayed the same. Source(s): I lived in Calgary for grades 5-9, should be the same as Edmonton. Other Travel Tips G'day Glitter-n-Gloss, Thanks for the question. According to Alberta Education, High School is between Years 10-12. Regards Alberta Education http://www.education.gov.ab.ca/k_12/comp... Yeah, high schools grade 10-12 here, usually in a seperate school than junior high. Yup, your mom is right. Elementary is K-6, Jr. High 7-9, and high school is 10-12! Lot's of schools have Elementary/Jr. High, and Jr. High/High school in the same building. You bump into the older/younger crowds but don't usually use the same facilities...and they try to make recess at different times so there are no conflicts. I'm from good 'ol Edmonton :) |
