Driving betwen Jasper and Edmonton, Alberta?

Travel Info
Hi, I am planning to visit Banff area next summer. I am debating should I drive from Jasper to Edmonton because I am afraid of height and can not drive on a highway which edged on a cliff. However, if the road is not narrow and has a wide shoulder I should be ok.
Can you give me an advice how highway 16 from Jasper to Edmonton is alike? Are there any parts that may be edged on a cliff?
Thanks.

Travel Tips
There are no cliffs to worry about between Edmonton and Jasper. None. Really.
Now, if you continue past Jasper - toward Banff or Vancouver... there are some high passes, but please keep in mind that this is an extremely well travelled route by thousands of visitors to our country every day. It's not terrifying! Please contact Travel Alberta for more information, and check the weather and routes with CAA Alberta and BC. Other Travel Tips
Where are starting out from? Banff is a little over an hour drive west of Calgary, Edmonton is 3 hours north of Calgary and Jasper is a little over 4 hours west of Edmonton. I gather you don't want to drive the Columbia Parkway between Jasper and Lake Louise? Jasper to Lake Louise(1/2 hour west of Banff) is a scenic 2 1/2 hour drive that does have some cliff side stretches but nothing terribly severe. To go to Banff through Edmonton from Jasper will take you at least 8-10 hours. Columbia Parkway goes past the Athabaska Glacier and is really not a bad road. Plenty of tourists so you can drive slowly. Canadian Rockies have stretches of cliff side roads but in most areas have decent size shoulders. Highway 16 from Jasper east has no cliff side stretches.West from Jasper is another matter.
You will love the drive! No cliff hangers; just wonderful views and awesome roads. Hwy 16 Jasper to Edmonton included. No dangers at all.
Start your drives early morning for a better chance to see wild animals.
Cheers!
