Where is a great Edmonton and area Neighbourhood? |
Travel Info We are going to move to the Edmonton area, and would like to know what a great neighbourhood to live in would be. I would like to live fairley close to an elementary school(2 kids in grades 2 and k), no crime(or as little as possible) and an area where we can have a decent and private yard. It doesn't have to be in the city anywhere with in a 30 min drive will do Can anyone help? Travel Tips I live in Sherwood Park, and I ain't gonna lie to ya - this area really is perfect for young families. Even in the middle of town, where the houses are all 25 to 30 years old, it's still beautiful. And Sherwood Park has expanded a lot, there's many newer houses too. We're definately a Hamlet that keeps on growing. Others My dad moved the family to Sherwood Park when I was 15 and we spent another 10 yrs there. It is a hamlet just to the east of Edmonton with about a 30 min drive to downtown. It is very accessible to get to both the south and north sides of Edmonton. I went to high school in Sherwood Park and found it a good place to grow up in. Check out ... http://www.sherwoodparknews.com/... St. Albert is awesome for raising kids, check it out I'm moving over to Edmonton next march from England and have just come back from a week "fact finding" we went and had a look around neighbourhood's and houses, we have finally settled on a place called Leduc its about 20min from the city and seemed a nice area with schools, the houses are really nice as well, if you've not already been it might be worth taking a trip out before you move we found it really beneficial. good luck Sherwood Park! Well 30 min from the city is far from living in a city, there are many small towns and cities outside of edmonton that can cater to your likes. As for being right in edmonton i would prefer many areas , the westend is nice in callingwood area, riverbend southside and deep northwest in new areas such as castlebrook and things like that all depends on your budget for your home many areas are expensive to live in depends what your looking for. Riverbend, Jackson Heights, Summerside, Rutherford...there are lots of great places. I like Southeast, or Southwest best. Stay away from the Northside--ugly!!! If you want a small city just out of Edmonton try Spruce Grove, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, or Beaumont. Check out... www.comfree.com |
