It depends on which of the two major cities you are going to. If you are taking an International flight you have Calgary International or Edmonton International. I would think you might like to choose your airport based on how close it might be to Calgary or Edmonton. I wish I could be a bit more helpful on this one.

Calgary International. You get there via Vancouver. You may choose to travel by car from Vancouver to Calgary by car. Very scenic route.
