Whats jamieson place in Edmonton like??

Travel Info
i'm moving over to Alberta from England in March and have seen a nice house on the internet in Jamieson place could anyone tell me what the area is like?

Travel Tips
Do you know what area of the city it is? Ok, I looked it up. It is the West End of Edmonton. West End is a nice area. You are close to West Edmonton Mall, there are tons of great restaurants and places to go in the West end. And it is quite accessible and easy to get around Edmonton and to different parts of the city. Hope this helps. You can email me if you have other questions about Edmonton.

Dark and Twisty...
Jamieson is actually in the southwest quadant of the city. It is one of the most westerly communities . It is located south of the Whitemud Drive (freeway which runs east>west and just north of 45Ave. It is still considered on the north side of the North Saskatchewan River. While not the newest community in the SW it's still very nice. The SW is the fast growing section of Edmonton with lots of new housing developements there. It is also close to the new Anthony Hendey Drive which is part of the new ring road around Edmonton. If you are looking on a map of the city West Edmonton Mall is located on 170 St. and 87 Ave in the southern section of Summerlea.
The area in and around 170 St. is probably one of the most congested areas of the city. The traffic on the west side is a challenge on the best of days. Your closest grocery stores would be located in Callingwood - your closest mall would be West. Ed. Don't think you'll be able to get to City Centre very quickly because you won't - it's quite the bus ride or a challenge by car. The next closest shopping would be South Commons which unfotunately is an even bigger headache than 170 St. area.
The SW area because it's also the fast growing area is also one of the most expensive aeas in which to buy a home.
There are lots and lots of communities within the city which are wonderful. You need to decide are you going to buy or rent - house or apartment because it will play a part in where you'll likely live. Also where you're going to be working - our traffic situation has gotten worse in the last 2 years so you may want to live fairly close if possible. You should also keep in mind our "hot" housing market - what you saw likely isn't going to be there in March - or even next week so you need to prepare yourself to spending time finding available housing. Rental market is about 1% vacancy.
Hope this helps. Good Luck
