Where can I find a good two bedroom apartment in edmonton, alberta? |
Travel Info Where can I find a good two bedroom apartment in edmonton, alberta? Travel Tips You're not asking for much are you? You do realize that the vacancy rate in Edmonton is hovering around the 1% mark. You will find that you will be paying in the $750 and up range for a 2 bedroom apartment providing you can find one. There are areas of the city that are definately more expensive then others. Bedroom communities such as Sherwood Park and St. Albert which are really great communities tend to be more expensive overall and the transit system though there to the city is not always that convenient. You could start by checking the local newspapers: www.edmontonjournal.com www.edmontonsun.com www.edmontonexaminer.com ( this is a weekly paper) From there you go to sites which deal in Edmonton rentals - here are a few of them: http://www.sublet.com/area_rentals/canad... http://www.edmonton.rentfaster.ca/renter... www.kijiji.ca and then find the one for Edmonton - you can also post a Want Ad here for free - replies are by email. www.craigslist.org then find the listing for Edmonton - you can also post a Want Ad here for free. - replies by email. http://www.rentalsalberta.com/search_res... http://www.247apartments.com/rentals/alb... www.usededmonton.com here you can also put in a Free Want Ad or look for one. Replies by email. You should also try looking in the "Edmonton" Answers for a post recently on "Safe Places to live in Edmonton" - hopefully you can still find it. Central locations are best with Downtown Edmonton (check the safe places to live) and in and around the Whyte Ave/University for being the most convenient and central for your search. The area in and around Southgate mall is also a good choice as it has numerous apartment buildings close by and a transit station right at the mall. The transit system from all these locals is pretty good - you can get almost anywhere in the city from any of these locaions. There is a transit map/schedule at: www.edmonton.ca - go to Transit. You do not say why you need a 2 bedroom apt but I'm going to assume that you have children. If the child isn't of school age then your options are greater as you probably don't need to be near a school. Many apartment buildings located in the SE are also located close to either a school or a community centre which usually have a play ground. If you are from Edmonton then you are already familiar with the areas and likely have an idea which area where you want to live. You may just be looking for ideas of where to look to find a rental. Try checking the bulletin board are the community supermarkets in the areas where you'd like to find an apartment. Many times private home owners will advertise their apartment this way. Good Luck with your quest. Others Check in the west end. Prices are not so high and it's a nice area and relatively safe. |
