An American women in october 6 university....Cairo/ Egypt? |
Travel Info would that sound weird? would they even accept me? I'm thinking about studying medicine at that university, but I'm having my doubts :) are the students and staff familiar with foreign people at that university? one more question, do you know what percentage grade point average(or 4.0 GPA scale) is required for medicine? I'm not so sure I'm going to study at that university. My boyfriend wants to stay here for a few years and I just don't wanna leave him for school. I might have to though. do you know any other good universities that offer a major in medicine? Thanks in advance!! Travel Tips It is a good University and you will find quite a few foreigners studying there.Nearly all the students will speak English,as do most Caireans. I have a friend whose husband did his medicine training there and is now a specialist doing liver transplants in Cairo. So it can't be so bad! Sorry don't know about the G.P.A. required. But I would guess it would not be higher than the requirement in the U.S.A. The only University I have had anything to do with is the A.U.C.and my field is humanities! So i am personally not much help at all! Why don't you email them all for a handbook? Then you will get a much clearer picture of what is available and what to expect. Good Luck. Others no i donna think that sounds weird cause there are foreign students there and many non egyptians student in 6 oct , for specific inf you can visit 6 oct website and know everything http://www.o6u.edu.eg/english.htm... for know about study medcine you can visit this page http://www.o6u.edu.eg/medicine/index.htm... It's a good idea. I don't think grade will be a problem, but think about other details like how you will go there and come everyday if you are living in Cairo and you know how is the roads. I don't think you'll feel comfortable to use the transportation of the university. You need a car with a driver in this case. It might look as a little thing now, but think about this kind of details. MUST university is good, they all have foreign students a lot. however, i m surprised that you want to study medicine here and not in the US!? You can do it, but two things you should know. 1. do you want to study medicine in the 3rd world country? Where are you going to practice. 2. that univesity is a private one started for rich kids whose grades were too bad for the more prestigeous public universities. 3. a asingle woman in a muslim country is going to be harrassed to no end. why don't u go to a.u.c in cairo? |
