Young woman visiting Egypt wanting advice on how to dress similar to egyptian cultural dress.? |
Travel Info myself and my boyfriend are visiting egypt this year and I want to wear clothes that don't draw too much attention to me and are acceptable for the culture. We won't be in the touristy resorts. There are many answers addressing this subject on yahoo answers but none actually saying what egyptian women themselves wear. Can someone maybe who lives there or has been there tell me what an egyptian woman would wear and what parts are best covered up. Also could I buy something before I go? Travel Tips wear whatever u want here in egypt its open to all culturals , dont worry about that Others I live there now its simple Long white dresses with head (scarfs in laymans tear) cover and sandles are fine well just wear white since its the coolest colour, and just wear what you thinks best and suits your age dont be too bold and wear stupid things though...make good choices how about dressing as a pharoh? i am the source when visiting local sites try and cover you arms and legs why not also try a hat with a neck protector. try ponchos and shawl's that are not to brightly coloured Just don'twear anything reavealing a lot of your skin. Cover up most of your chest(try to stay away from camis and tank-tops) and be sure to stay away from skirts and shorts that are too short. Don't show most of your legs. Your best bet is to wear capris, pants and tee-shirts.(don't show your stomach either) Egyptian women wear anything that don't show their hair(on their head) legs, chest, and most of their arms. But not ALL women do this, to fit in, DON'T wear anything that show a lot of your skin, but you can still show your hair. (on your head) And this is very inportant-DON'T WEAR TIGHT CLOTHES. |
