How (not) accepting are Egyptians? |
Travel Info I want to go on holiday to the Concorde El Salam Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt and I just want to know if my skin colour (I'm about Naomi Campbell's complexion) will pose a problem to the people there. The resort looks amazing but I don't want to go somewhere where I'm stared at and looked down upon. Thanks! Travel Tips You have nothing to worry about. A lot of the Bedouins in the Sinai will be darker then you are! Besides there are so many tourists from all over the world, you will blend in and hardly be noticed.Despite what you might hear or read Egyptians are by far some of the most tolerant Middle Easterns. You will have to great time. On another note you might want to also go to Dahab and the monastery at St Catherine, they are both incredible places, enjoy your stay there. I know I did and that's why I keep going back. Others Egypyians are far from being racists. Are you kidding? Egyptians LOVE tourists! your more than welcomed in Egypt. and if there is starring going on (which i doubt will happen), then just brush it off your shoulders like it's nothing. Don't let this discourage you from having an amazing trip. take care. my hubby is Egyptian. You have nothing to worry about. Egyptians are of many races and mixed races. You will find Egyptians with dark complexion, olive skin, white skin etc etc. Besides that Egyptians are not a bit racist to any race or colour. Feel free to come and enjoy your stay. Don't worry it isn't problem for your skin color.. Because sharm is a holiday place and there are different people from different religion and different nationality. Also Egyptian people are very very friendly. And Sharm El sheikh is a wonderful place..I am sure you will enjoy there and i wish a great holiday in there.. Ok I have to admit, that question was very surprising and shocking for me! you should not worry about it in any way (cuz there is nothing to worry abt in the 1st place). In Egypt, we have a lot of people with a fair complexion and a lot with a dark complexion. So seeing different skin colors is a very ordinary thing. Egypt is a Muslim country, so racism is out of question as Muslims believes all men are created equal regardless of their color. I think you've got a very pretty color as I'm a fan of Naomi Campbell :) have fun and enjoy it in Egypt |
